Massatonic College founded by Royal Charter with an inaugural class of 12 students studying theology, philosophy, and classical languages.
Construction of Founders Hall completed, now the oldest academic building in continuous use in North America.
Massatonic College is granted university status. Schools of Law, Medicine, and Natural Philosophy established.
Women first admitted to full degree programs, making Massatonic among the earliest coeducational universities in the nation.
Post-war expansion doubles campus size. The Aldridge Library opens, eventually housing over 14 million volumes.
